M.E.-Friendly Hospital Charter
Our M.E. Friendly Hospital Charter was finally launched on 29th October 2024!
The Charter, developed with input from a diverse group of over 20 people from the M.E. community representing various severities and members of the NHS.
It’s intended to relieve M.E. patients of self-advocacy burdens by ensuring hospitals adhere to compassionate and M.E. appropriate care standards.
The Charter was launched during our ‘BED for Severe M.E.’ webinar: ‘Severe M.E. – Exclusion From Healthcare’ you can watch the recording below.
Call to Action!
The M.E.-Friendly Hospital Charter represents a crucial initiative to improve hospital care for M.E patients across all severity levels.
I urge healthcare professionals and advocates to promote the M.E.-Friendly Hospital Charter within their ICBs, NHS trusts, and local hospitals. Please ask them to have a very important conversation with me, Sally Callow.
The charter’s primary goals include ensuring that M.E. patients receive care that is compassionate, appropriate, and dignified.
Advocates are encouraged to take a proactive role by introducing the Charter and promoting it in relevant healthcare settings to build a foundation for improved patient outcomes.
