Today, on Social Enterprise Day 2024, we’re proud to shine a light on the vital work we do at Stripy Lightbulb CIC. As a registered Community Interest Company, we exist to benefit the M.E./C.F.S. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) community, striving to bring about positive change through education and campaign work.

Our Mission: Empowering Change Through Education
At Stripy Lightbulb CIC, we’ve developed CPD-accredited online training to address the significant challenges faced by the M.E./C.F.S. community. Through this training, we aim to:
- Reduce Stigma: M.E./C.F.S. is often misunderstood, leading to stigma and misconceptions. Our training educates participants on the realities of the condition, fostering empathy and understanding.
- Improve Patient Support: Those who complete our training are better equipped to provide appropriate and beneficial support, improving the lives of M.E./C.F.S. patients.
- Fund Research: With a severe lack of funding for M.E./C.F.S. research, our surplus is directed towards this critical area to help find solutions and improve care outcomes.
A Personal Drive for Change
Our Managing Director, Sally Callow, has lived with M.E./C.F.S. since 2006. A passionate advocate, Sally has dedicated her career to improving awareness and support for the condition. Since 2014, she has also led the advocacy organisation ME Foggy Dog, which is now a social enterprise in its own right.
Sally’s lived experience fuels our mission, ensuring that our work is deeply rooted in the realities faced by the M.E./C.F.S. community.
