We’re excited to share that Stripy Lightbulb CIC has just launched a fundraising page on GoodHub! This is a fantastic opportunity for our community and networks to come together, get creative, and support our mission of improving understanding of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (M.E./C.F.S.) through the education of professionals with a duty of care.
Unlike charities, Community Interest Companies like ours have limited access to grant funding. That’s why fundraising is so vital, it will allow us to host training days, expand our educational offering, and bring greater hope to those affected by M.E./C.F.S.
Stripy Lightbulb CIC works for the benefit of the M.E./C.F.S. community in three key ways:
- Reducing stigma: Our training dismantles harmful misconceptions and fosters greater understanding.
- Improving support: We equip professionals and organisations with practical, accurate knowledge to better support people living with M.E./C.F.S.
- Funding research: 50% of any surplus we generate is donated to biomedical research into M.E./C.F.S., an area that remains severely underfunded.

Get Creative With Your Fundraising!
We don’t just want donations, we’d love for you to have fun while fundraising! Here are some ideas to spark your imagination:
- Bake for Change: Host a cake sale at work, school, or in your community.
- Quiz Night: Organise a trivia evening with friends and donate the entry fees.
- Sponsored Silence: Challenge yourself to stay quiet for a set time and raise funds through sponsorship.
- Craft & Create: Sell handmade items, from knitted scarves to painted mugs, with proceeds going to Stripy Lightbulb CIC.
- Fitness Challenge: Walk, run, or cycle a set distance and ask for sponsorship (we are not encouraging anyone living with M.E./C.F.S to do this!)
- Dress-Up Day: Pick a theme (superheroes, famous people, or even “Stripy Lightbulbs”!) and fundraise through participation fees.
The more imaginative, the better, your creativity helps shine a light on M.E./C.F.S while raising vital funds.
